中身については、モリソンボウモアが保有していた蒸留所構成や販売市場での紹介内容から、グレンギリー原酒とみられるボトルとして語られることが多い1本です。実際、複数の販売店ではグレンギリー表記で紹介されています。一方で、公開情報の中には中身を断定していないものもあるため、当店では「グレンギリーとされるハイランドモルト」としてご案内するのが適切と考えています。当時の高級ラインらしい重厚な陶器デキャンタ仕様も、このボトルの大きな魅力です。

Q.E.2 is a special Highland malt bottling associated with the famous Cunard ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2. Presented in a striking black ceramic decanter with a dedicated box, it is widely understood as a special release linked to sales aboard the QE2, giving it a strong sense of exclusivity and period luxury.

As for the whisky inside, market descriptions and the Morrison Bowmore distillery portfolio strongly suggest that this bottling most likely contains Glen Garioch spirit. Several retailers explicitly present it that way. At the same time, some public descriptions stop short of making a definitive statement, so the safest wording is that it is a Highland malt widely believed to be Glen Garioch. The heavy ceramic decanter presentation also supports its reputation as a premium old bottling from the Morrison Bowmore era.
