アーガイルは、キャンベルタウンを代表するオールドボトルのひとつとして知られるシングルモルトです。スプリングバンク蒸留所は1828年創業のキャンベルタウンを代表する蒸留所で、現在も同地の伝統を受け継ぐ存在として高く評価されています。アーガイルという名称はキャンベルタウン周辺の地名や歴史的背景を感じさせるもので、陶器ボトルの個性的な意匠も相まって、独特の存在感を放つ1本です。

このボトルについては、古くから中身がスプリングバンク原酒ではないかと語られており、販売市場でもそのように紹介されることがあります。ただし、その点を明言する蒸留所の公式説明は今回確認できなかったため、当店では「スプリングバンク原酒とされるキャンベルタウンモルト」としてご案内するのが適切と考えています。1980年代流通の黒い陶器ボトルはオールドボトルらしい魅力が強く、熟成年数表記のあるキャンベルタウンモルトとしても印象的な1本です。

Argyll is known among old bottle enthusiasts as a distinctive Campbeltown single malt. Springbank Distillery, founded in 1828, remains one of the most important distilleries in Campbeltown, and its traditional style has long defined the region for many whisky drinkers. The name “Argyll” evokes the local historical setting of Campbeltown, while the black ceramic decanter gives the bottle a particularly strong vintage presence.

This bottling has long been associated with Springbank spirit, and it is often presented that way in the secondary market. However, I was not able to confirm an official distillery statement explicitly saying so, so the safest description is that it is a Campbeltown single malt widely believed to contain Springbank whisky. With its 15-year age statement, 43% strength, and ceramic presentation from the late 1970s to 1980s era, it stands out as a memorable old bottle from Campbeltown.
